It's an obscure ZQSD layout from the French AZERTY keyboard which we already chose as the left analog stick function in Controller Companion.

Starting with the movement keys - yes, those are correct. There's some weird in-game sh*t and after much testing, this particular loadout covers every single in-game function and avoids all key conflicts and bugs.Īgain, some of these look strange. You are welcome to try to edit some things if there's anything glaring you need to change for some personal preference, but if you do, I cannot help you. Anyway, since all the buttons have already been set in Controller Companion, you should have little reason to want to change these controls here anyway. It's a goofy bug that apparently never got fixed in the Steam version. Even if you edit them and change them back, the glitch still exists and all the controls must be redone from scratch. If you change them, the game may experience a glitch where clicking up and down through menu items in-game skips every other selection. IT IS IMPORTANT TO SET THEM EXACTLY AS SHOWN! Of particular note, make sure to leave the up/down/left/right arrow keys as the "Menu" keys at the bottom of the list, and do not set them to do anything else. In Blood Money, go to Options > Controls and edit your keyboard configuration.

Now the gamepad will use these controls, auto loading this Profile we made in Controller Companion, whenever Hitman is launched. Once you have these buttons set, hit Apply/OK and go ahead and launch the game. This is set up as a sort of conglomeration of the original console Blood Money controls, a couple changes similar to the new Hitman, and several things that MUST stay the same in order to function properly and allow you to navigate EVERYTHING without a keyboard and mouse. You can pretty safely move these around to your preferred buttons.īut most of the others you will want to keep in place. And "m" is the map, which I chose to map to the left stick, while swapping between 1st and 3rd person ("F1") is set to "Back" + "Y". Other than that, "n" on the keyboard will be the notebook/briefing, which I have assigned to "Back" + "RB" - you could assign "n" to any alternate controller button you want. Normally human beings press "A" to advance through menu screens in games, so this allows you to shift-A ("Back" + "A") to input the Enter key the game is looking for. I'd leave "A" assigned to "Enter" in the second column as shown - between missions in the game you HAVE to press Enter to continue. This is an area where you could reassign buttons based on personal preference with no real ill effects. (The Back button basically functions like a "shift" or modify key). and RIGHT Trigger = LEFT Mouse Click.Īlso, the right column allows a secondary function to be assigned, which works by holding the Back button on the controller. It just works.Īnother quick thing to note is that LEFT Trigger = RIGHT Mouse Click. But you're using a gamepad, so who cares what keys it's set to behind the scenes, right? Right. Do NOT choose WASD or Arrow Keys - these can't be used for character movement for reasons I'll describe later. YES, that is ZQSD as your movement keys on the left analog stick. :) Long story short, there are several odd UI functions where sometimes arrow keys work, sometimes only the mouse works, etc, along with a couple bugs and unavoidable key conflicts, which can ALL be avoided if you just set them exactly as I have them below.Ī few things to note.

Some may seem like odd choices, but trust me. Then simply assign the buttons EXACTLY as follows. The first step is to click the UNBIND ALL button in the lower left.
